There are some pretty serious side effects of steroid use.� Some of which are ‘livable’ meaning they only cause you slight discomfort, and there are others that can often be irreparable.� This list doesn’t include things that just go wrong, like side effects if you have an allergic reaction to what you are taking (especially if it isn’t what you think it is).
So, without further ado, here’s the list of potential side effects.
Acne – It’s a very common side effect, it can give acne to someone who has never had acne, and it can make acne worse for others. It can also popup in places where acne has never been seen before on your body (back etc.)
Aggression - Also know as “roid rage”. We don’t want to go into this to much, but basically this is an imbalance with your hormones where you have raging testosterone running through your system leading to emotional outbursts.� This can seriously effect your relationships.
Cardiovascular Disease - Steroid use can be a risk factor for heart disease. This is because steroids affect the cholesterol levels. Over a period of time the cholesterol can build up and eventually clog the arteries.
Gynecomastia – In other words… bitch tits.� How would you feel walking around like Bob Bitch Tits (if you’ve watch fight club) that can literally be how it ends up.
Hypertension – Getting high blood pressure is also a chance when taking steroids. It’s hard to know yourself though, so it’s important to get a test.
Impotence - Impotence occurs when a user goes on and off steroids. This is probably the worst possible side effect for a male, yes you’ll experience some great sex drive whiel on steroids, but is that worth a life of impotence?
Jaundice – A liver disease which is found by an enlarged painful liver, yellowing of the eyes and skin, and flu like symptoms.
Palpitations - Heart palpitations have been reported by a number of athletes on steroids. These may indicate an excited or elevated level of the central nervous system.
Water Retention - This is most common from using steroids. This is the bloating or puffy swelling that you’ll notice in the neck and facial areas.� It’s probably one of the more noticeable ways you can tell if someone is on steroids or not.
